Sales-tax treatment is not identical across businesses or projects. Whether a specific job or purchase is taxable depends on the nature of the work, the contract and applicable state and local rules.

Is this for you?

Do you:

Treat some projects or services as non-taxable for your customers
Buy materials across many vendors and payment methods
Want clearer reconciliations and quicker sales tax reporting
Rely on sales tax exemption forms (ST-8 or ST-124)
Have receipts, deposits or job records in multiple places

Our Story

Built From a Real Contractor's Experience

A NJ landscape design company hired me to represent them as Power of Attorney during a New Jersey State audit.

During the audit, I reconciled discrepancies between the company's manual accounting records and the amounts reported on their tax returns. I also manually reconstructed and documented the company's sales-tax records across the audit period, helping establish that the appropriate sales tax had been paid.

The process ultimately helped the company avoid tens of thousands of dollars in potential additional liability.

But I didn't stop with the audit.

I transitioned the company's accounting system from paper records and QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online and integrated payroll workflows. According to the company, the new system reduced the office manager's accounting-related workload by more than 80%.

The result was a more organized accounting system, better visibility into the company's financial records, and a much more streamlined office workflow.

This experience inspired Liftoff Ledger.

I've created Liftoff Ledger to show business owners what can happen when accounting is properly organized, documentation is maintained, and repetitive office work is automated. We also work with a CPA firm that offers our clients high quality Tax Prep services

Protect your hard-earned money. Spend less time in the office. Spend more time growing your business.
